24 Oct 2010 Yosemite

WOW!  There is no other word to introduce Yosemite.  Once you’ve passed the towns and start down the country road, you’re greeted by cascading mountain hills, as we roll down into them the scenery gets more and more beautiful.  As Justin pointed out “thats nothing.”  How right he is.

But before I get into the AMAZING beauty that awaited us in the park, its imperative that I tell you about the best take away burgers in the world from In-n-Out!

There are 3 things on the menu, hamburger, cheese burger and the double-double, and then chips or a drink.  Naturally we went for the double-double in all its meaty duo splendour.

Two patties on a burger – look at the size of those tomato’s, real burger patties.  Its amazing goodness in a bun, if heaven were a take away burger it would be the double-double from In-n-Out.

'Hungry, happy people eating IN ’n OUT'

Filled up on good food, the captain and his co-pilot missioned on toward Yosemite, overcast and raining it was still beautiful, the golden California hills rolling alongside the highway and the amazing cloud’s that created a beautiful back drop.

Headed down into the valley framed by mountains and a creek running next to the road, wispy low lying clouds.

Every turn in Yosemite is more magnificent than the one before.

Being in Yosemite is like opening your eyes for the first time.  You reach a point where you can’t say “Wow thats SO pretty/beautiful/magnificent”, when you think, the Captain might be getting tired of your, now repetitive, exclamations of amazement.  My words don’t do the park justice and my pictures don’t nearly communicate the majesty of the park – God did good when He created this piece of earth.

This is my favourite photo!

"Tomorrow the mists will blow back to reveal the park in all its glory.  A magisterial experience and you will reach transcendence or else."  The Captain

And this is just the beginning of our Yosemite adventure – can’t wait to see what’s waiting for us to discover tomorrow.
